Reckless Mind

By Aparna Giri

You run in the meadows, in the highland
Play in piercing chill and in desert sand
You reach for the moon and paint it blue
Shoot for all the stars and the sun too

Appear like a saint and give advices
Easing all the worries and the vices
Again like a child with ample gaity
Full of love, innocence and simplicity

Are you playing some sort of charm?
Not letting me be quite and calm
You well know my darker side
And all your silly commands, I abide.

Sometimes you are my greatest friend
Seems conversation with you would never end
Then again I think of you as my foe
When still you know me from head to toe

You keep all darkest secrets and dreams
Wouldn't let them out to world it seems
You know all my steps and moves too.
Yet I have so little knowledge about you

You and I have such a bind
You are me and my mind
I am an enigma in myself
A bunch of riddles and nothing else
